A Professional Scrap Metal Merchant
Our story begins in 1953, when Donald (Dodo) Johnston founded Johnston Metals in order to provide a professional scrap metal service to businesses in Inverness and the Highlands. Since then, we’ve grown in every way possible, from the size of our premises, our team, the services we offer & the number of customers we work with. Now run by Dodo’s grandson Martin in the yard & his daughter Sandra in the office, we are very much a family business. We provide a range of scrap metal, skip hire and waste disposal services that have all been designed to be as effortless as possible, while also providing great value for money.

Johnston Metals is founded in Inverness by Donald Johnston, with the aim of delivering a fair value scrap metal service.
1995
Johnston Metals moves to our new and larger premises on Burnett Road.
2012
Martin Johnston takes over the family business. We also start to offer our skip hire service.
2024
Today, we’re proud to still be delivering reliable services as the oldest scrap metal merchants in the Highlands
